Jaguar F-PACE prices rise

Jaguar has lifted the pricing of its F-PACE SUV in increments ranging between $1520 and $2050, commencing from January 1.

A RedBook report reveals that prices for the 2.0-litre diesel variants have risen by $1520, and the supercharged petrol V6 variants (35t) at the top of the range have risen by $1859.

For the F-PACE 30d (turbo-diesel V6), prices have stepped up $1780 for all variants other than the R-Sport, which is now $2050 higher. First Edition models are unchanged.

The adjusted prices reflect the popularity of the F-PACE, which was only launched in Australia six months ago. As at the end of December, the F-PACE had sold 829 units in 2016, making it Jaguar's second most popular model for the year, despite being on sale for just the last five months.

In December, the F-PACE (161 units) outsold Jaguar's most popular model in 2016, the XE (129 units). The SUV is on track to take the sales crown away from the XE in 2017.

"The all-new Jaguar F-PACE is quickly becoming the brand’s top seller and the XE and XF sport sedans continue to do very well in the respective segments," says Matthew Wiesner, Jaguar Land Rover Australia Managing Director.

"This level of sales performance would not have been possible without the high level of investment in JLR retailer facilities and their people throughout 2016. With over $120m currently being invested in new or upgraded facilities, we have enhanced the level of the customer experience and the results are clear to see in the record retail results."

The RedBook also reports that Ferrari's GT4 Lusso T is officially on the prestige brand's local price list, at $503,888 – despite local deliveries of the car unlikely to commence before early 2018.

At the other end of the market, Holden has reduced the pricing of its Astra hatch, which was announced earlier this week.

Mercedes-Benz has introduced a low-roof/medium wheelbase version of its Sprinter Transfer bus, at a considerably lower price of $64,990.

Porsche's new 718-generation Cayman and Boxster are in the country and the local price list now reflects that. Although ballpark pricing for the local market has been known since as long ago as April of last year, the Cayman has only just arrived in Aussie dealerships. Prices run from $110,000 for the entry-level Cayman to $148,090 for the Boxster S with PDK.

Porsche's four-cylinder Macan also makes an appearance, priced at $76,610.

Skoda has been messing around with prices of its Fabia light car range, it seems. Entry-level 66TSI models have increased $500 for both the hatch and wagon models, but the 81TSI wagon has been pegged back $800.
