Jaguar's F-PACE fleet will take on added growl for 2019 with the addition of a new flagship variant, the F-PACE SVR, along with a suite of new technology.
Headlining significant safety and technology updates across the F-PACE SUV range, the SVR packs the same 5.0-litre supercharged V8 as the Range Rover Sport SVR and the F-TYPE SVR. It will be priced from $140,040 plus on-road costs.
Jaguar has this week announced the added firepower will be accompanied by technology and safety changes across the F-PACE SUV range. This includes standard fitment of a larger 10-inch touch-screen on all models, plus optional new slimline sports seats, suede headlining and illuminated tread plates.
On the safety front, the updated mid-size luxury SUV features an upgraded Adaptive Cruise Control function that operates between 0 and 180km/h, with the ability to maintain its position in the lane.
The Jaguar F-PACE's Forward Collision Alert system also has a greater breadth of ability, now between 10km/h and 160km/h.
The changes help the updated model maintain a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating.
Mechanically, petrol-driven derivatives of the F-PACE will feature a larger 82-litre fuel tank -- up from the current model's 63-litre tank. Jaguar will outline further driveline changes closer to launch.
First shown at the New York motor show, the SVR's blown V8 offers a scintillating 404kW and 680Nm, correlating with a 0-100km/h time of just 4.3 seconds a top speed of 283km/h.
A variable valve active exhaust system will ensure the huge reserves of power don't go unnoticed.
The 2019 F-PACE SVR is due in showrooms around October, while the regular F-PACE line-up will lob a couple of months earlier.
