The Jaguar F-TYPE is entering its final model year and it just so happens to coincide with the 75th anniversary of Jaguar’s sports car lineage.
So to celebrate, the raucous British sports car line-up has been revised for the 2024 model year and will comprise solely of three ‘75’ edition V8 variants due in showrooms from early 2023.
Priced from $183,200 plus on-road costs, the MY24 Jaguar F-TYPE will be available in 75 Coupe, 75 Convertible and R 75 Coupe forms.
All three variants are set to flaunt a series of bespoke styling cues designed to subtly hint at their significance as the last of their kind.
The most obvious clues to their identities will be unique black 20-inch alloy wheels and silhouette badging on the front wings, complemented by blacked-out wheels, grilles and rear badging.
Customers wanting to make their F-TYPE stand out even more will be able to opt for the new ‘Giola Green metallic’ body colour.
The special-edition touches are continued within the cabin, where you’ll find the same silhouette motif stamped on the centre console and tread plates.
‘Performance’ slimline seats upholstered in Windsor leather are included as standard, as is the Interior Black Pack that adds black vents, instrument cluster, steering wheel spokes, switch bezels and centre console grab handle finisher.
The rest of the MY24 F-TYPE’s standard equipment is largely the same as before, with other highlights including a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, adaptive dampers, LED exterior lighting, seat heating and cooling, 10-inch infotainment screen and climate control.
Lurking under the bonnet of every MY24 F-TYPE is the familiar and venerable supercharged 5.0-litre petrol V8 good for 331kW/580Nm in standard guise or 423kW/700Nm in flagship R form.
All versions continue to channel their power to the road using all four wheels and an eight-speed transmission, yielding a 4.6-second 0-100km/h time for the Coupe and Convertible, while the R ups the ante with a 3.7sec sprint. Both tunes will top out at 285km/h.
“For 75 years Jaguar has been renowned for producing extraordinary sports cars that deliver performance, agility and maximum driver reward,” said Jaguar Land Rover chief exterior designer Matthew Beaven.
“The F-TYPE special editions hold true to these principles, adding unique interior and exterior design details to celebrate this lineage before Jaguar becomes an all-electric brand from 2025.”
It’s needless to say the MY24 F-TYPE vehicles are more expensive than their MY23 counterparts on account of their bespoke styling touches and enhanced equipment levels, with prices up between $6177 and $12,171 depending on the variant.
