James Bond Day celebrations call for a selfie with some iconic rides

Seven of James Bond’s iconic Aston Martins hit the streets of London to celebrate James Bond Day.

British car maker Aston Martin teamed up with EON Productions to celebrate Global James Bond Day on October 5th by driving seven of the iconic cars through the centre of London. The iconic cars passed major London landmarks and well known locations from the well known Bond films.

Aston Martin is Bond's weapon of choice in eleven of the 007 films; Goldfinger (1964), Thunderball (1965), On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (1969), The Living Daylights (1971), GoldenEye (1995), Tomorrow Never Dies (1997), Die Another Day (2002), Casino Royale (2006), Quantum of Solace (2008), Skyfall (2012) and Spectre (2015).

Lucky Londoners had the opportunity to grab a selfie with the Die Another Day (2002) Vanquish, complete with bonnet mounted guns at Aston Martin Park Lane or could head over to Aston Martin Works’ heritage showroom to check out the battle-scarred Quantum of Solace (2008) DBS.

If like us you happened to be in Australia and missed out on the selfies, the ‘Bond in Motion’ exhibition at the London Film Museum is the largest official collection of original James Bond vehicles and is expected to quench your Bond car thirst when you do make it over to the UK. A £14.50 ticket well spent!

Aston Martin Vice-President and Chief Marketing Officer, Simon Sproule said: “The connection between James Bond and Aston Martin reaches back through the decades so we are delighted to be supporting Global James Bond Day 2018. London is the home of 007 and fans should be on the lookout for some of the most exciting cars used by James Bond this Friday 5th October.”

The next installment from the 007 franchise is set to begin production in March next year next year, with a release date expected for early 2020. It's expected to be Daniel Craig's last hurrah in the top role and we reckon it is time for another Aussie to step up, maybe Hugh Jackman or Chris Hemsworth?
