James Bond’s Aston Martin DB5 from Goldfinger given the PLAYMOBIL treatment
The legendary Aston Martin DB5 featured in 1964’s Goldfinger is synonymous with the 007 film series and has now been adapted into an authentic replica by kids toymaker PLAYMOBIL.One of the most iconic cars in cinematic history, the Aston Martin DB5 which is the vehicle of choice of 007 himself, has been transformed into a fun toy by PLAYMOBIL for all film lovers and collectors to enjoy. This pairing marks the start of a special relationship between 007 and the DB5 which has spanned seven James Bond films over 50 years of cinematic history.
The latest instalment in the Bond franchise is set to hit Aussie cinemas in November.
The James Bond Aston Martin DB5 – Goldfinger Edition from PLAYMOBIL is just as special as the on-screen original. Along with its authentically reproduced details, one highlight of the PLAYMOBIL model is the famous ejector seat which is triggered by pressing the exhaust pipes. The iconic Bond villains can be casually catapulted out of the roof through the removable panels.
Other features from the film that make it into the mini-me toy include the triple rotating number plates at the front and rear, the retractable bulletproof armoured bulkhead behind the rear window, and the extendable ramming horns on the bumper.
The 54 piece James Bond Aston Martin DB5 – Goldfinger Edition set includes four character figures including James Bond, as well as Goldfinger and Oddjob. The DB5 replica toy car which measures in at 26.5cm long is recommended for kids 5 years and up and is certainly a must-have for any collector young or old.
