Jeep Australia has released added-value versions of two of its most popular models, bringing black interior and exterior designs and more equipment to the cheapest 4x4 versions of the Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee.
Available in showrooms now, the MY19 Jeep Grand Cherokee Night Eagle is claimed to add more than $10,400 worth of extra customer value for $58,450 plus on-road costs — $5500 more than the entry-level Laredo 4x4 V6 auto on which it’s based. A 3.0-litre diesel version is $5000 pricier at $63,450 plus ORCs.
Meantime the smaller MY19 Jeep Cherokee Night Eagle package is said to add more than $6400 worth of extra customer value for $45,150 plus ORCs — $3200 more than the entry-level Longitude 4x4 V6 auto on which it’s based.
Following the success of similar urban-themed Blackhawk editions and the previous Cherokee special with the same name, the Night Eagle dark appearance package returns for MY19 with a host of black cosmetic additions inside and out.
For the Grand Cherokee, these include exclusive 20-inch split five-spoke black wheels with Jeep centre caps, a black seven-slot Jeep grille with silver mesh inserts, body-colour lower front and rear fascia with black inserts, black fog light bezels, black side window surrounds, black tail-light bezels, black rear step pad, black roof mouldings instead of roof rails, black Jeep and Grand Cherokee badging, a Night Eagle badge instead of Laredo badge on the latter and deep-tint privacy glass.
Inside, there’s all-black Capri leather seat upholstery with perforated suede inserts and black accent stitching, Jeep’s UConnect 8.4-inch navigation touch-screen with Apple Car Play and Android Auto, and a single-pane sunroof.
For the Cherokee, the Night Eagle extras are exclusive 18-inch black alloy wheels, gloss-black design features for the seven-slot grille, lower front fascia chin insert, roof rails and Jeep badging, plus matt-black Cherokee front door badging with gloss black surround.
Inside, there are gloss-black interior accents including piano-black bezels for the steering wheel, air-conditioning unit and door applique, plus the Longitude Technology Package as standard.
