Jeep releases Blackhawk package

Pay up to $2000 more for special edition Jeep Blackhawk models featuring all-black exterior makeover

Jeep is rolling out special Blackhawk Edition styling packs for buyers who want to stand out from the crowd with gloss black exterior and interior enhancements.

Available on Wrangler Overland, Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4 and Sport CVT variants of the Compass and Patriot, the styling packages deliver "ramped up curb appeal" as well as "outstanding value" according to Fiat Chrysler Australia.

"Street appeal is a consideration for many Jeep buyers," said FCA president and CEO Veronica Johns. "Inclusions in the Blackhawk Edition models provide – in one value-packed comprehensive package – the items many customers search for when individualising their new vehicles."

For the front-wheel drive, 2.0-litre petrol Blackhawk Compass and Patriot, the 'blacked-out' theme includes 17-inch gloss black alloy wheels, gloss black side roof rails, gloss black Jeep badging, Blackhawk badge on boot, gloss black Patriot or Compass badging, gloss black grille with black accents, and body colour rear bumper with side steps. The package also includes heated front seats, Uconnect voice command with Bluetooth and auto dimming rear view mirror.

Available in two or four-door specification, the four-wheel drive, 3.6-litre petrol Wrangler Blackhawk features a Blackhawk edition grille with gloss black accents, gloss black Jeep badging and Blackhawk badge on boot, Wrangler decal on front wheel guard, matt black bonnet decal, deep tint windows and 18-inch gloss black alloy wheels and wheel caps.

Other features include a body colour three-piece hard-top, fuel filler door with black/chrome screws, gloss black hard spare tyre cover, and rear window wiper and defroster.

Inside, the Wrangler Blackhawk also benefits from heated front seats and black leather trim with accent stitching, leather-wrapped steering wheel with black stitching, piano black accents on the door handles, dash grab handle, and air duct surround, and Uconnect Voice Command with Bluetooth and remote USB port.

The Blackhawk package is also available on the Grand Cherokee Laredo with 3.6-litre petrol or 3.0-litre diesel engines and includes similar gloss badging and window tinting to the other variants, along with grey satin gloss tail lights, body colour fascia, gunmetal headlight bezels, black roof molding, dual bright exhaust tips and 20-inch gloss black alloy wheels. Interior highlights include black suede/leather seats with black stitching, heated front seats, and 8.4-inch touch screen with Uconnect voice command and Bluetooth.

The BlackHawk package adds either $1200 (Compass and Patriot) or $2000 (Wrangler and Grand Cherokee) to the price of the standard model on which it is based.

Jeep Blackhawk pricing is as follows:
Patriot Blackhawk 4x4 2.0 petrol auto: $28,900
Compass Blackhawk 4x2 2.0 petrol auto: $30,200
Wrangler Blackhawk two-door 4x4 3.6 petrol auto: $45,000
