Jeep has announced it will unveil a facelifted version of its small Renegade at an event in Italy this Wednesday (June 6).
Only a single rear tail-light of the updated Renegade has been revealed, but it's expected the small SUV will adopt subtle exterior tweaks that will involve revised LED daytime running lamps, redesigned LED tail-lights (pictured) and revised front and rear bumpers.
Inside, the smallest Jeep -- for now -- will come will the option of the car-maker's latest infotainment system.
The biggest news is what will happen under the bonnet of the 2019 Renegade, which has already been spotted in winter testing.
Tipped to be among the first vehicles within Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) to get the car-maker's advanced 48-volt mild hybrid boosted 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, the model to be revealed tomorrow will debut a new 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that will produce around 90kW.
A new 1.3-litre turbo engine, meanwhile, will also be introduced with two power outputs -- 110kW or 132kW.
It's not known if the Jeep will continue to be offered with a small diesel, or if the current 1.3-litre turbo-diesel will be dropped altogether following the announcement that FCA would ditch diesel by 2021 in favour of electrified powertrains.
In the future, a new plug-in hybrid version will also be available in the Renegade range.
On sale in Europe from September this year, Jeep's refreshed small SUV is also expected on sale Down Under by the end of 2018.
