Jingle all the way

Customisers have already taken to cult car the Chrysler 300C like a duck to water and everything from oversized chrome wheels to gold plated door handles have been cruising the boulevards and doing the show circuit. But for those who think that's all a bit passé a new 300C stretch limo has landed Downunder to take over the 'most outrageous' mantle.

Melbourne company Presidential Coachbuilders took delivery of their first 300C stretch limo last week. Owner of PCB Paul Caminiti says he has orders for another four vehicles at this stage and expects to sell up to 10 cars per year.

At 9m long the 300C limousine can accommodate 10 passengers comfortably in the rear with a driver and front seat passenger bringing the total to 12 possible occupants.

"We start with an Australian-delivered six-cylinder 300C," says Caminiti, "and we send the car to our off-shore facility where the car is stretched by 3.5m -- with all-galvanized construction. When it comes back to us we take care of all the ADR (Australian Design Rules)."

A leather J-shaped seat, fibre optic lighting, three flat screen TVs, DVD, full wet bar and touch screen controls for air-con, privacy partition and lighting keep rear passengers comfortable and entertained.

Caminiti says that a V8 version can easily be accommodated but at this stage six-cylinder cars are a priority because of the extra cost of the V8 engine. "Because it's a limousine it doesn't need the extra power," says Caminiti, "but we can make one if someone wants a V8."

How long can it be before someone orders the powerful SRT version?

Standing out from the crowd doesn't come cheap though -- the 300C stretch limo costs $170K but hey, you and your 11 best mates are worth it!
