Got $200,000 to spare? Porsche's Panamera sedan can now be yours. The prestige importer has announced two new V6 models slotting into the range below the 4.8-litre V8 Panamera S variant. As we suspected in February, the price for the V6 Panamera comes in under $200,000 -- but only in the case of the rear-wheel drive model ($193,000). The price of the all-wheel drive version, the Panamera 4, is set at $204,000.
At those prices, the V6 Panamera and Panamera 4 remain relative bargains when placed up against the rear-drive only Panamera S V8 at $270,000.
The V6 engine powering the two new models has been developed in-house by Porsche and produces 220kW of power plus 400Nm of torque. Featuring direct injection, the new engine reportedly uses less than 10L/100km, even in the case of the all-wheel drive variant. CO2 emissions are rated at 213g/km for the rear-drive V6 and 220g/km for the AWD V6.
To be released at the Beijing International Motor Show next week, the two V6 Panamera models will drive through Porsche's seven-speed 'PDK' double-clutch transmission.
"This V6 has been designed by Porsche specifically for the Panamera," says Porsche Cars Australia Managing Director Michael Winkler. "It has the power and refinement our customers expect, yet at the same time delivers excellent fuel economy and low CO2 emissions."
