Hyundai has called in the big guns to help push its IONIQ EV brand with the hope global superstars BTS can strike the right chord with future car owners.
BTS has been top of the music charts worldwide and has a very loyal and energetic following of Millenial and Gen-Z fans. No wonder then why Hyundai has teamed up with them for a music and brand collaboration to help push their EV credentials. This isn't the first time BTS has helped launch a Hyundai campaign. Back in February 2019, they were named ambassadors for the launch of the Palisade SUV.
For their latest collaboration, BTS has released a new song called “IONIQ: I’m On It,” which will be available to download for free.
According to Hyundai:
“IONIQ: I’m On It gives voice in line with IONIQ’s goal to offer customer centric EV experiences centred on connected lifestyle solutions. The song’s lyrics – sung and rapped by BTS’s RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook – express feelings of discovery, curiosity, hope, creativity, and inspiration for the future, affirmed by the refrain IONIQ takes me there.”
The band spoke about their experience shooting the campaign with Hyundai.
V: I think this song, "Ioniq," is the best song for commercial music. I hope this song comes out and approaches ARMY with sincerity.
Jimin: Yes, same here. When I heard about the commercial shooting, I think advertising has a trend, and I think it’s been a while since a music video-style ad has come out like this. It didn’t feel like a commercial shoot. It felt like an actual music video shoot. And was a refreshing experience for me. I had a lot of fun filming today. The car itself was so pretty. I hope we can continue to film more like this with Hyundai.

Superfans can also win a limited-edition cassette tape-shaped music player. The music player contains two tracks – “IONIQ: I’m On It” and individual messages from each member of the band.
The music video features Hyundai’s latest concept EV Prophecy unveiled in March which is pinned to be the hero car for the IONIQ brand. Under IONIQ, Hyundai plans to roll out three new dedicated EV models over the next four years including IONIQ 5 mid-sized SUV, IONIQ 6 sedan, and IONIQ 7 large SUV.
