Kanye West is full of surprises and his latest announcement is very on brand. Created by his company Donda, a strange concept car which is said to be made from foam and manufactured in America has surfaced online.
Not much is known about the Donda Foam Vehicle besides what can be seen in the teaser image which shows a car that could be a mix between a sneaker and a car from Mad Max Fury Road. A car made from foam is a unique concept, but with Ye’s foray into sneakers and the popularity of his Yeezy line, it seems like a no brainer.

A love for unique customised cars is within the star rapper’s wheelhouse with his YeMobile, designed to look like a Batmobile amongst cars in his garage. He also owns a Beige-wrapped Lamborghini Urus, and a matte black Aston Martin DBS.
The teaser image was accompanied by an announcement that Steven Smith would become Donda’s Head of Industrial Design. Smith has worked for the likes of Nike, New Balance, Reebok and FILA since the ‘80s and was the executive director of Adidas’ Yeezy line. Interestingly he has no known experience in the automotive industry so making a car will be a very different challenge.

A potential application of the Donda designed foam car would be for Kanye to team up with a car brand to deliver the motoring application side of things in the same way he did with sneakers. Tesla’s Elon Musk seems like a natural fit as he has a close friendship with Kanye and supported him during his strange 2020 presidential campaign.
