Kia EV6 wait time down to two months

is now much more free-flowing after Kia Australia managed to source stock from other markets.Kia Australia product planning boss Roland Rivero said all four variants of the EV6, including the new flagship GT, are now much more readily available.
“For the longest time the understanding from customers is it’s hard to get your hands on an EV6… but now availability has definitely improved,” Rivero told carsales.
“So if you’ve had any apprehensions about EV6 because there’s a two-year wait, well that’s not the case anymore.”
According to Rivero, the wait time is “down to a couple of months for all variants of the Kia EV6”.
“The GT is a little bit tougher – maybe an extra month or two – but availability is a lot better than it has been,” he added.
Kia Australia marketing general manager, Dean Norbiato, says the local arm has worked hard with its headquarters in order to appease demand at dealerships.
“There are weekly discussions and negotiations to pull stock from other markets to get more examples here,” he explained.
Although EV6 supply has been given a shot in the arm, Kia Australia executives admit they haven’t been as fortunate with their most popular passenger and SUV models.
The Kia Sportage, Sorento, Seltos and Cerato have been quite scarce on the ground in Australia, and are currently subject to delivery wait times of six months or more.
“If we could get cars, there’s still a very strong passenger market out there,” Rivero said. “Passenger vehicles has been a strength of ours for many years and that’s why we’re not walking away from that segment”.
