Kia freshens Sorento SUV for 2018
Subtle mid-life tweaks include full-LED lights and a new infotainment systemKia has given its Sorento SUV the lightest of facelifts for 2018.
Visually, the updates, revealed by the launch of the South Korean specification Sorento yesterday, include full-LED headlights, a new grille and redesigned front bumper with a larger air intake.
Kia's trademark 'ice cube' LED daytime running lamps have been repositioned and, at the rear, are LED tail-lights, and a re-profiled bumper incorporating larger reflectors placed higher than before.
Unusually, for an SUV, designers have also cheekily introduced a faux rear diffuser.
Other changes include the option of side steps and new 19-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the Sorento gains a four-spoke steering wheel and an upgraded touch-screen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Under the bonnet, in the Korean market, both the Sorento’s turbo-petrol and turbo-diesel carry over unchanged.
It's not known if there will be any changes to the 147kW/441Nm 2.2-litre turbo-diesel and 199kW/218Nm 3.3-litre V6 petrol we get in Australia.
The updated Sorento was originally due to arrive Down Under in the third quarter of this year, so could be on sale in a matter of months.
