Kia has released the first picture of its star car for the North American International Auto Show.
Dubbed the Soul, the Kia is described as a "bold, sporty cross-over 4WD vehicle designed to appeal to young people looking for a vehicle that is as versatile and easy to use as it stylish and uncompromising in its bold visual statement."
Kia says the Soul builds on the Mesa concept car Kia displayed at the 2005 Detroit Show. "A wrap-around windshield, muscular wheel flares, stylish front headlamps and a sloped roofline convey an athletic attitude," says the company.
Schedule to get underway on January 9, 2006 in Detroit, the home of the American motor industry, the NAIS is traditionally heavy with production-ready (and not so production-ready) concept cars -- 2006 should be no exception.
Keep an eye out at CarPoint for more previews of the Detroit concepts over the New Year period.
