Kia set to rebrand with new logo and slogan for 2021

Trademark filing reveals Kia to introduce new restyled logo and ditch 'power to surprise' catchphrase

Kia will relaunch its brand in January 2021 with a new restyled logo and new slogan, according to a new patent that's been filed with the Korea Intellectual Property Rights Information Service.

According to the patent filed, the new logo has already been previewed by the 2019 Kia Imagine concept that made its debut at the Geneva motor show.

As part of the rebrand, 'The Power to Surprise' slogan will be retired for the 'Movement that Inspires' catchphrase.

The first car to gain the new logo will be the Kia Cadenza and K7 mid-size sedan that's available mainly in South Korea and the North American market.

As well as simply introducing the new branding, there's reports that the Korean car-maker will attempt to change perceptions of the brand to make it "more dynamic, stylish and inventive".

The Kia Imagine electric car concept, meanwhile, has been approved for production.
