The fastest car ever tested by Top Gear, the Swedish designed and built Koenigsegg CCR, will be on show in Australia for the first time at Meguiar's MotorEx on July 23-24 at the Sydney Showgrounds.
One of the fastest production cars in the world, the 1180kg hypercar is powered by a twin-supercharged 4.7-litre V8 producing 593kW/920Nm, enough to see it sprint from 0-100km/h in 3.0 seconds.
In 2005, the Koenigsegg CCR took the Guiness Book of World Record's title of fastest production car at the Nardo test track in Italy, reaching 388km/h.
The only one of its kind in the country, and one of just 20 ever built, the Koenigsegg CCR has been modified to meet Australian Design Rules (ADRs). It was sold to a private buyer for a cool $1.6 million.
The all-black Koenigsegg is one of more than 450 unique cars that will go on display at the 11th Meguiar's MotorEx next week, the pool value of the show tallying $50 million.
"We are thrilled to have the Koenigsegg on display, an honor normally reserved for the Australian International Motor Show, adding to the best custom, performance and collectable cars from all over Australia under the one roof," said the show's managing director, Bruce Morrison.
"MotorEx truly has the greatest rides on show. Whether you consider yourself an enthusiast or not, there is something for everyone's interests at MotorEx."
