It's got a one-speed gearbox, four motors, carbon-fibre wheels and one of the most arresting hand-crafted interiors yet. And when the Koenigsegg Regera goes on sale in late 2016, it'll cost more than $3 million to park it in your driveway.
That's the take from the first listed price of the new Swedish supercar, which has been advertised for €2.1 million ($A3.1 million) via SuperVettura, a car showroom in the UK. It lists the vehicle as being ready for delivery in December 2016.
The Koenigsegg Regera was revealed at the 2015 Geneva motor show and makes use of a 5.0-litre twin-turbo V8, backed up by three electric motors, to develop a mind-melting 1103kW and 2000Nm. That's enough herbs to hustle from 0-400km/h in under 20 seconds.
Madness.
The rear-wheel drive Swede would blow the doors off a Bugatti Veyron and has a claimed top speed of more than 450km/h. Power is transferred from the V8 and electric motor trio via purpose-built single-speed direct-drive transmission.
The Regera is said to accelerate from 150km/h to 250km/h in just 3.2 seconds, fast enough to generate significant G-forces and keep bodies pinned firmly in their ultra-plush racing seats.
It should steer well (when not under full throttle) thanks to active aerodynamics and a 1420kg dry kerb weight.
