A day after announcing the end of production for its most successful model ever, the Gallardo, Lamborghini has launched a mini-website in the lead-up to releasing its replacement, the Cabrera .
No details have been revealed at this stage, but the microsite (www.hexagonproject.com) depicts a starter button underneath a jet fighter-style flap.
When clicked, it produces the throaty exhaust note of what’s expected to be a 5.2-litre V10 delivering up to 450kW – up from 419kW/550Nm in the outgoing Gallardo Superleggera flagship.
“Listen to your instinct,” proclaims the Cabrera teaser site. “Discover the roar of the new creature from Lamborghini. That will be just the beginning.”
As we’ve reported, the Cabrera is expected to emerge with a kerb weight of less than 1500kg, enabling it to sprint to 100km/h in about 3.2 seconds.
That will make its significantly lighter and quicker than the $400,000-plus Gallardo it replaces as Lambo’s entry-level supercar.
