Lamborghini has given a small glimpse of the Aventador Superveloce Jota it will reveal at the Monterey Car Week next month.
Fresh from setting a new fastest lap at the Nurburgring Nordschleife circuit, where it laid down a time of just six minutes 44:97 seconds, Lamborghini has issued a new teaser image that appears to show only an up-close-and-personal shot of the supercar's snout that, compared to the regular Aventador, now sports a pair of new vents.
Along with a new Kermit-green bonnet teaser, last week Lamborghini also released a full video of the record lap on YouTube, proving the SVJ is 2.27 seconds faster than the previous record-holder, Porsche's latest 911 GT2 RS.

The video, as well as the accompanying images of the SVJ in action, shows off the Aventador's SVJ's wild new aerodynamic package that introduces a deep front splitter, wide side skirts and a racy rear wing.
The wind-bending measures also incorporate Lamborghini's ALA 2.0 active aerodynamics system that optimises downforce through corners and reduces drag on the straights.
The need for those additional bonnet vents is closely linked to the gaping front air intakes employed in the front bumper. All feed air to the Aventador's uprated -- but still normally aspirated -- 6.5-litre V12 that now produces 567kW at 8500rpm and 720Nm at 6750rpm.
Combined with some serious weight savings, Lamborghini claims the SVJ will have a power to weight ratio of 1.98kg/hp (1.46kg/kW) – better than any other car in its 55-year history.
As well as being lighter, the Aventador SVJ gets a completely revised suspension set-up and bespoke Pirelli P Zero Corsa tyres, although for the record the optional P Zero Trofeo Rs were used.

The famed Jota name has, in the past, been reserved for just two cars – the original Miura that was developed by legendary test driver Bob Wallace and a wild rear-wheel drive Diablo SE 30 Jota that was made to celebrate 30 years of Lamborghinis.
Confirmed to be revealed at Monterey Car Week in California at the end of August, the Aventador SVJ is set to be offered in both coupe and roadster form.
The Jota is likely to be made in extremely small numbers and priced significantly higher than the recently introduced Aventador S, which sells Down Under for $789,425 before on-road costs.
