Another image of what appears to be Aston Martin’s all-new DB11 has appeared on Dutch car blog, Autojunk.nl.
If genuine, following on from last week’s single rear picture, Autojunk.nl can claim singlehandedly to have scooped one of the most anticipated Aston Martins of all time.
If the pic is not a convincing homemade rendering, the new DB11 continues to look heavily influenced by the ultra-limited-run DB10 that was built for the most recent James Bond movie.
It’s not known where this particular image was discovered. The original rear pic leaked last week was claimed to have been captured while the new 2+2 coupe was being shot for a promo movie, ahead of its official unveiling at the Geneva motor show in March. This image could also stem from the same source and also be an image shot for the Swiss car show.
The reason why the DB11 is the firm’s most crucial car in Aston’s recent history is because it’s based on the car-maker’s next-gen platform architecture that will underpin all its future new models.
Under the bonnet, the coupe is also set to get the company’s new 450kW 5.2-litre turbocharged V12 engine or the Mercedes-AMG twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8, thanks to a technical partnership between both car-makers.
As well as the AMG-sourced turbocharged V8, Aston Martin will also benefit from the latest Mercedes-Benz technology that includes its safety systems, infotainment and even the ‘virtual dashboard’ that’s used on its range-topping vehicles.
We expect official DB11 teases, this time from Aston Martin itself, as we near the Geneva show.
