Leaked: Benz AMG C 63 Coupe

First official images of Mercedes-AMG's answer to the BMW M4 Coupe leak out

The new C-Class Coupe was officially revealed late last week and Mercedes-Benz will soon show us the AMG version ahead of its world debut at next month's Frankfurt motor show.

For those that can't wait to see Mercedes-AMG's new BMW M4 fighter, however, the first official images of the all-new C 63 Coupe appear to have been leaked overnight by Zero2Turbo.

We can't vouch for the legitimacy of these two pictures, which appear to have been taken during an official Mercedes-Benz pre-launch presentation, but they're almost certain to show the real deal based on previous spy shots and teaser images.

Compared to the regular new C-Class two-door, the showroom-ready C 63 S Coupe you see here adds exactly what you'd expect: a more aggressive aero kit including an aggressive front bumper with black honeycomb upper and lower grilles, and prominent rear diffuser flanked by quad exhaust outlets, chunky side skirts and what appears to be a subtle carbon-fibre bootlid spoiler.

Also evident are large black alloy wheels (shrouding the same ceramic brake options available on the C 63 sedan), matched with black wing mirrors and a panoramic sunroof.

Indeed, using the C 63 sedan as a guide, the C 63 S Coupe seen here appears to be fully loaded with the exterior carbon-fibre package and could even be a launch-special Edition 1 model.

What's certain is that like the S version of the C 63 sedan (the only variant available in Australia from launch) the C 63 S Coupe will be powered by a 375kW/700Nm version of AMG's twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 – up from 350kW/650Nm in the standard C 63s.

Matched with a seven-speed automatic transmission and driving the rear wheels, the ultimate C-Class should hit 100km/h in as little as 3.9 seconds, given the C 63 S sedan does it in four seconds.

Expect the C 63 S Coupe to be the headline act of the new C-Class Coupe range when it arrives in Australia around mid-2016.
