Pictures of the Skoda's as-yet-unseen Kodiaq GT have been leaked online months ahead of its official launch in China.
Originally, the five-seat coupe-crossover was supposed to be unveiled at China's Chengdu motor show this September, but now the cat is out the bag after CarNewsChina.com photographed and posted a completely undisguised Kodiaq GT.
Created to be a more cost-effective alternative to a BMW X4 or Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe, the more stylish version of the large Kodiaq SUV include a steeply-raked rear roofline complete with a small spoiler, a redesigned bumper, wider rear wheel-arches and a pair of dual tailpipes.
According to leaked figures, the Kodiaq GT measures in at 4634mm long, 1883mm wide and 1649mm tall, with a 2791mm wheelbase. That means that compared to the regular Kodiaq it is 63mm shorter, 1mm wider and 27mm lower for a sportier stance.
Under the bonnet, Chinese buyers will have the choice of a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol four-cylinder offering either 137kW or 161kW, combined with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.
Manufactured as part of the Volkswagen Group's partnership with SAIC in Shanghai, the Kodiaq GT will be priced from 220,000 yuan ($A43,000) when it goes on sale in China later this year.
Initially, Skoda's SUV coupe will be China-only, although there are reports the Kodiaq GT could be eventually offered in all global markets, including Australia.
