Mercedes-AMG F1 champion Lewis Hamilton has been known to be a party boy and wannabe Hollywood star for almost as long as his racing career itself. So it has come as no surprise that the racer has decided to follow his dreams and dip his toe into the world of music.
The 35-year-old took to his Instagram Stories late last week to reveal to his 18.4 million followers his love for music and writing as well as revealing his musical identity, XNDA.
If you’re thinking, ‘surely I’d know if someone called Lewis Hamilton released a song’ and you’d be correct. Lewis revealed that he goes by a musical identity called XNDA and that he collaborated and featured with musical superstar Christina Aguilera on a song in 2018.

XNDA is featured on Xtina’s track called Pipe and says that Aguilera had approached him with the project which he had to write and rap a short verse for.
"Guys, I’ve spent the last ten years or more writing and recording, working with some of the most talented and beautiful people which I’m so grateful for. It’s been the most incredible outlet.
"I had this incredibly beautiful and talented person reach out to me a while back asking for me to be on her album, I was so blown away and I jumped at the opportunity. I had two hours to write the short verse and record", Hamilton posted on his Instagram Story.
Here are some of those lyrics featured on the song Pipe...
You know I got a wild imagination
I like to play the doctor, operation (yeah)
Spread it on the bed like a patient (yeah)
I'm about to show you domination (yeah, how)
Wowzers…not the content you’d expect from an F1 driver but very on-brand for some LA hit music.
Hamilton also said that the reason why he didn’t reveal his identity was that he had insecurities, fear and was overthinking.
"The goal was to have the music come out under a different name so that you could hear the music first and later know it was me but it didn’t work out the way I'd planned.
"I shied away from acknowledging it was me, I don’t know why, maybe insecurities, fear, overthinking, something I think many people can relate to. Well, I want to say that XNDA is me."
Lewis and Xtina are said to have become friends after she performed at an F1 concert and were pictured together at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in 2018. Hamilton has also previously dated Pussycat Doll’s lead singer Nicole Scherzinger between 2007-2015 so LA's music and celebrity scene is surely nothing too new.
So can we expect to hear more tracks from XNDA soon? Well with rumours circulating on the future of Hamilton's racing career, music might be the next full-time project.
"I haven’t got a project or album, just a bunch of different songs that some of you will be able to connect to. They have helped me get through some of the most difficult times.
"At some stage I’m going to find a moment to share with you so bear with me."
