With four model variants to choose from, the new Lexus CT 200h will hit Australian showrooms from early next month with pricing starting at just $39,990.
The segment-first 'prestige hybrid hatch', as Lexus calls it, will become a gateway vehicle for newcomers to the brand. It will also showcase new levels if technology and equipment in the segment, including active cruise control, Lexus' pre-collision safety system as well as the luxury marque's Encore owners program, DriveCare and Lexus' unique service loan car, drop-off and collection service.
Customers will also enjoy the peace of mind that comes with a segment-leading four-year, 100,000-kilometre warranty and an eight-year warranty on the hybrid battery.
Lexus says it has priced each CT 200h variant to be a competitive contender in the compact luxury segment, and hopes to lure buyers away from conventionally-powered compact models.
Wooing buyers shouldn't be difficult either with Prestige model grades offering keyless push-button start, eight airbags, dual-climate control, 16-inch alloy wheels, daytime running lamps, two-mood two-mode functionality, cruise control, Lexus' unique Hybrid Drive system, metallic paint (at no extra cost) and USB connectivity.
Luxury, F Sport and Sports Luxury models will also include a reversing camera.
"Starting at $39,990, CT 200h will open up the Lexus brand to a host of new and existing customers - those wanting to enter the luxury market, those wanting to downsize to a stylish and sporty hatchback, and those who wish to take advantage of the CT 200h's unique hybrid driveline," said Lexus Chief Executive, Tony Cramb.
"At Lexus, we believe in treating customers as though they are a guest in our own home, and with CT it will be no different. The Lexus covenant of delivering world-class service and support comes standard.
"CT 200h also brings greater choice and equipment to the compact luxury segment, with its unique hybrid drive train and onboard technology, some of which is normally out of reach of compact luxury vehicle buyers."
The all-new Lexus CT 200h will launch at this year's Australian Formula One Grand Prix, via the Lexus Celebrity Challenge.
