The two pics shown here are allegedly teaser shots of the Lexus GS F-Sport (with the mesh grille) and the GS 450h hybrid, but their authenticity seems unlikely.
We first spotted them on enthusiast site Autoblog, which has proved itself a thoroughly reliable site for automotive information in the past. Autoblog had sourced the images from another site, EGMCartech and reproduced them with the appropriate credit, but there's little information accompanying the images on either site. We've been doing a little snooping to find out more about these images — and turned up zilch.
The images don't appear to be available through either the official European or North American media sites operated by Lexus and our local source of information concerning the brand was not available to assist us with our enquiries. From what we've been able to determine — and as reported by Joshua Dowling at the GS launch at Pebble Beach — the GS 450h (hybrid) will debut at Frankfurt later this month and the GS F-Sport is likely to turn up at SEMA in Las Vegas later in the year (November). If that's the case, expect the higher-performance GS to be fully sick for its unveiling at the aftermarket equipment show.
No one at Lexus was saying anything, but given the GS hybrid has been sold here in the past and Lexus seems determined to establish the F-Sport badge here in Australia, we reckon you can expect to see both variants here — presumably within 12 months.
