More of the all-new 2020 Lexus IS sedan has been revealed ahead of its delayed global online debut tomorrow (June 16).
Originally, the Japanese car-maker was set to reveal its fourth-generation IS last Tuesday (June 9), before it changed its mind and pushed back the date.
As you can see in this new five-second teaser video on YouTube, the car that's set to be revealed will be the 2020 Lexus IS 350 F Sport, and it rides on large multi-spoke alloy rims.
The short clip also reveals the rakish rear-end of the new Lexus IS, which also features a subtle boot spoiler and shark fin antenna.
We already know from a previous shadowy teaser image of its rear-end that Lexus' latest rival for the BMW 3 Series will pack wide stance and incorporate a full-length LED rear light bar above an aggressive rear diffuser, hinting at an overall design that will be overtly sporty.
Beneath the skin, it’s not yet known whether the new Lexus IS will be based on Toyota’s latest TNGA architecture or if Lexus’s latest entry-level sedan is a re-skinned version of the existing IS.
Under the bonnet, it’s thought the 2020 Lexus IS will be offered with four-cylinder petrol and hybrid powertrains, plus a V6 for the IS 350 you see here, and Lexus is also expected to reintroduce a fast IS F variant.
Sadly, instead of the previous-generation IS F’s naturally-aspirated 5.0-litre V8, the new IS F will come with a 310kW/600Nm 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 from the LS 500.
Stay tuned as all will be revealed on June 16 at 9.00am AEST.
