Since the release of the current IS 250 model in 2005 (more here), Lexus has sold over 5000 units of the car in Australia.
To celebrate this achievement (and to add a couple of hundred more units on the way to 6000), Lexus has introduced a limited edition model, the IS 250X.
Priced at $64,390 for the manual variant, the IS 250X -- which will also be available with an automatic transmission option -- slots in just below the IS 250 Sports grade and well clear of the IS 250 Prestige entry level model.
Additional features fitted include lowered ride-height sports suspension, five-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels, unique 'X' badging', a 14-speaker Mark Levinson audio system, moonroof, satellite navigation, upgraded black leather trim for the seats, sports pedals and metallic scuff plates.
Paint colour options are Vermilion, which is exclusive to the IS 250X, Metallic Silver and Onyx (Black).
Lexus will be selling 260 units of the limited run model, which goes on sale late this month.
