Lexus Australia has revealed pricing for its new convertible ahead of its launch later this month. The folding hardtop will follow the lead of the rest of range with a three-model line-up starting under $80,000.
Set to go head-to-head with the likes of the BMW 3 Series, Audi A4 Cabriolet and Mercedes-Benz CLK, Lexus has already sold the first three months supply (more here).
The range will consist of Prestige, Sports and Sports Luxury models, although Lexus hasn't revealed equipment and specification details yet. The Prestige model will be priced from $79,000 (price guide not including statutory and government charges); the Sports will start at $84,900 and the range-topping Sports Luxury at $99,900.
With sales already strong it's no surprise Lexus Australia CEO John Roca is looking forward to the latest addition to the range.
"The luxury convertible market is highly competitive and IS 250C brings a new look and approach to the segment, one that we believe will resonate with consumers," says Roca.
"In this market segment, price is less imperative -- IS 250C will be purchased for emotional and personal reasons.
"Lexus however, also adds an element of rationality to that decision -- offering a vehicle that is unmatched for its quality, reliability and specification.
"Our pricing is not apologetic -- it's realistic, in our relatively short history we constantly make the competition stand up and take notice and the end result is consumers benefit."
