The Frankfurt motor show is only days away but Lexus couldn't wait to give the world a sneak peak at its star attraction for the big event, the LF-Ch concept. Although referred to as a concept the five-door hatch will enter the market in the not-too-distant future to give Lexus a rival for the BMW 1 Series, Audi A3 and Mercedes-Benz B-Class.
In keeping with the company's eco-friendly image the LF-Ch concept features the Lexus Hybrid Drive to give the car a unique selling point of its potential competitors.
But that's the only hard information Lexus is offering at this point, keeping full details up its sleeve until Friday (September 11). The image shows the car sporting hidden rear door handles though to give it a coupe look.
"LF-Ch combines stylish design and full hybrid technology, in a practical five-door compact package, to fulfill the needs of the most demanding premium compact segment customers," the statement read.
"Benefitting from an electric-only driving capability, a key feature of Lexus Hybrid Drive, LF-Ch will allow for virtually silent urban driving with zero emissions."
But don't expect to see a hybrid-only line-up for the production edition. The most likely outcome is a split between petrol and petrol-electric models sharing the same trim levels, similar to the rest of the current Lexus line-up.
Check back on Friday for more information and images of the LF-Ch.
