Images of the Lexus LF-A have been leaked just before its official debut later today at the 2009 Tokyo motor show.
As these low resolution photos reveal, the Lexus LF-A supercar shows off a very angular, but ultimately aerodynamic design.
The profile and proportions of the high performance rear-wheel drive vehicle has a mild resemblance to the last generation Toyota Supra of the late 1990s, a tip of the hat to Toyota's sports car heritage perhaps.
There seems to be a triangular theme to the design, with the headlights, lateral air intakes and the rear exhaust surround all displaying a similar motif. It would make Pythagoras proud.
We'll have the full reveal of the car for you later tonight as our team on the ground in Tokyo inspect the new model today, but one thing you can be sure of is that it'll be fast.
Gunning for some of Europe's most famous supercars, the carbon-fibre clad LF-A is expected to be the most powerful vehicle in the Toyota/Lexus stable, with more than 400kW of power on tap. This should be enough to propel the car from 0-100km/h in under 4.0secs.
Keep checking back for updates and high resolution images of the new supercar throughout the day, for what is expected to be the most anticipated launch at the 2009 Tokyo motor show.
