The all-electric 2021 Lexus UX 300e is only a matter of weeks away from launching in Australia, and to boost interest in the Japanese brand’s first EV the company is throwing in free home charger installation and complimentary public recharging.
The EV-specific benefits are an extension to Lexus’ Encore Platinum owner benefits program that is currently available only with the Lexus LS, LC and LX flagship model lines.
Buyers of the regular Lexus UX small SUV are not eligible for the three-year membership to the program, which brings a range of perks including access to different Lexus models when travelling interstate or to New Zealand, or if another vehicle better suits the owner’s requirements for a particular task.
For the new Lexus UX 300e, owners automatically qualify for a complimentary JetCharge home charger and three years’ free public charging courtesy of Chargefox.
An upgraded five-year capped-price servicing plan has also been developed for the EV, costing $295 per service and including the Lexus Service Experience (car collection and drop-off).
The UX 300e will also be added to the car booking fleet under the Encore Platinum program so other Lexus owners can sample the electric car on their own travels.
With more benefits set to be detailed at the car’s launch, Lexus Australia chief executive Scott Thompson said the luxury brand was focused on delivering leading ownership solutions for a new kind of vehicle (for Lexus).
“Lexus is renowned for leading ownership and guided by the Japanese hospitality art of omotenashi to ensure that we anticipate customer needs, appreciate all the finer details and develop authentic relationships with them,” he said.
“Inspired by our unique heritage and those key principles, we listened closely to Lexus customers and committed to taking our Encore Platinum owner benefits program to the next level for the UX 300e – and there is still more to come.”
There’s no word yet on whether this will include the industry-leading 10-year/1,000,000km warranty available on the UX 300e overseas.
