The 2009-10 financial year hasn't been the annus horribilis the analysts were predicting, but it has presented an opportunity to squeeze car companies for the best possible deal.
With the end of the year fast approaching, it's time to spend that budget if you haven't already -- and Mitsubishi has a pre-packaged solution for Pajero buyers. It's the Pajero ACTiV, a limited volume model that comes with $5000 worth of extra kit for no extra cost, according to the importer.
Based on the Pajero GLX, the ACTiV features colour-coded door handles/mirrors, roof rails, front fog lights, side steps, front mud flaps, a rear spoiler and alloy nudge bar. Inside, the specification is upgraded with touch-screen satellite navigation, voice control, Bluetooth connectivity, reversing camera, steering wheel remote controls for satnav voice control, an electro-chromatic mirror, illuminated driver/front passenger vanity mirrors, extendable sunvisors, side-impact airbags and side-curtain airbags.
Mechanically, the Pajero ACTiV is powered by the same direct-injection 3.2-litre diesel engine or the 3.8-litre petrol V6 offered in the Pajero GLX. As an option, the limited edition Pajero can be specified with a diff lock.
"The Pajero is recognised for its superior performance, both on and off the road, and has won multiple awards from respected publications..." says Mitsubishi Vice President of Brand and Marketing, Paul Unerkov. "The Pajero ACTiV, with all the additional features, unequivocally delivers a fantastic package in a premium vehicle."
