Lister has once again teased an image of what, it claims, will be the "world's fastest SUV".
The re-born Jaguar tuner posted an image of its wicked-up F-Pace SVR creation overnight on social media.
Teasing what appears to be an ultra-lightweight allow wheel is a huge carbon-ceramic brake disc and an enormous brake caliper.
The enormous brake upgrade over the F-PACE SVR's mighty stoppers isn't for show, but a neccessary fitment as the small Jaguar tuner aims to boost the SVR's power to an incredible 500kW.
This, Lister hopes, will provide the modified F-PACE a top speed of almost 320km/h – giving it a comfortable margin over Bentley's Bentayga W12 that has recorded a video-verified top speed of 301km/h.
It's not yet known how Lister will extract the 100kW of power and around 50Nm of torque necessary to hit such high speeds but the supercharged 5.0-litre V8 is believed to have plenty of potential to make big power.
In stock trim under the bonnet of the F-PACE SVR it generates 404kW/680Nm, helping the Jag SUV hit 100km/h in just 4.3 seconds before topping out at 284km/h.
The biggest obstacle for Lister is the torque limitations imposed by the ZF-sourced eight-speed automatic that is restricted to 750Nm.
Another potential issue is the need for additional aero to keep the Jag SUV stable at speeds, and the extra cooling needed at speeds of over 300km/h.
Jaguar, meanwhile, has confirmed its flagship F-PACE SVR — based on the updated 2019MY F-PACE — will be in Australian dealerships from this October priced from $140,040 (plus ORCs).
