Nissan has confirmed it will reveal a new model at the Consumer Electronics Show next month and it's tipped to be long-range version of the car-maker's pure-electric Nissan LEAF.
Originally, the Nissan LEAF with a larger more powerful battery was set to be revealed at last month's Los Angeles Auto Show, but those plans were shelved following the arrest of the Nissan's boss, Carlos Ghosn.
Nissan has refused to confirm what car it plans to unveil AT CES, but the company could also show the LEAF NISMO RC race car.
The long-range LEAF, meanwhile, is set to come with a larger 60kWh lithium-ion battery pack that should boost the range to around 360km -- 120km more than the standard model, which is yet to arrive in Australia.
This would help Nissan match the range of the Chevrolet Bolt available in the US and the Kia Niro EV available in Korea, both of which can cover 370km on a single charge.
As well as a new model, the Japanese car-maker will show off its latest autonomous driving aids and next-gen connectivity tech in Las Vegas
