Lotus Emira: Full I4 and V6 pricing revealed

Order book opens for four-pot version of Lotus’ final combustion-engined car; V6 first batch sold out

Lotus Australia has set a starting price of $177,990 plus on-road costs for the 2023 Lotus Emira I4 First Edition, orders for which are now being taken ahead of first deliveries in the second quarter of next year.

Eager fans thinking of snapping up the most exclusive version of the final internal combustion-engined Lotus model will have to act fast though, with Lotus revealing today that deposits have already been laid for around 70 per cent of Australian-bound I4 First Edition cars.

What’s more, the entire 120-unit allocation of 2022 Lotus V6 First Edition models has been spoken for.

“As with the V6 First Edition, the I4 First Edition will come with a very high standard specification, including all three packs (Drivers, Convenience and Design), a 12-way adjustable driver’s seat and KEF 10 channel premium audio system,” Lotus Australia said in a statement.

“Customers will also be able to select the same range of non-cost and additional-cost options that were available on the V6 First Edition.”

For those who miss out on the First Edition models, Lotus Australia has also now revealed pricing for both the I4 and V6 Base Edition versions of the Emira.

The auto-only 2023 Lotus Emira I4 Base Edition is priced at $155,990 plus ORCs – a cool $22K lower than the First Edition – while the manual and auto V6 Base Edition models are $15,000 more affordable than their First Edition counterparts, priced from $169,990 and $173,990 plus ORCs respectively. Lotus says full specs for the entry models will be announced in the third quarter of this year, soon after the V6 First Edition cars arrive.

The Emira I4 is powered by a bespoke version of Mercedes-AMG’s M139 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine good for 268kW/430Nm.

It’s paired exclusively to an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission developed in collaboration with AMG.

The Emira V6 uses a Toyota-sourced 298kW 3.5-litre supercharged V6 and can be had with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic, the latter bumping up the maximum torque figure by 10Nm to 430Nm.
