New Lotus badge revealed

British sports-car maker's revival continues under Chinese ownership with the introduction of a fresh new logo

Lotus has revamped its traditional bonnet badge, reflecting the revival of the famous British car maker under Geely ownership.

Bought back in 2017 by the Chinese firm, which also owns Volvo, Lynk&Co and the London black cab maker LEVC, the new branding comes just weeks after it pulled the drapes off its wild pure-electric Evija hypercar.

Instead of an all new badge, the latest logo is more of a mild update that's claimed to be bolder and more visually striking than the old retro item, but still features the same shade of yellow and British Racing Green hues.

The new badging is only the eighth variation of the original emblem used since the specialist manufacturer was first founded by Colin Chapman back in 1948.

The latest badge still contains the intertwined ACBC initials that stand for Anthony Colin Bruce Chapman.

The announcement of the new logo has been timed coincide with a new deal to sponsor the local Premier League football Club Norwich City team's academy sides.
