LUMMA Design creates the mother of all M5s

Twin-turbo rocketship claimed to be the most powerful road-going BMW you can buy

We recently told you about a fettled M5 sedan prepped by BMW's own M division but of course you have to turn to the aftermarket mobs if completely OTT conversions rock your world.

Presenting the CLR 730 RS LUMMA Design -- a muscle-bound, twin-turbo concoction that rams out 537kW (or 730 horsepower, hence the designation) and a towering 700Nm.

The 'bi-compressor' engine, developed by G-Power, is said to be the most powerful donk ever slotted into a road-legal BMW, and the claimed performance figures are hardly a surprise.

It dispatches the 0-100km/h split in 4.2sec, but more impressive still is the scant 10sec required to double this speed. Keep the loafer buried for 29.5sec and you'll see 300km/h on the clock. V-max is quoted at 367.4km/h.

The "power explosion" can be traced to the G-Power compressor system and a drainpipe-mimicking LUMMA sport exhaust system with 100 cells racing catalysts and 105mm stainless-steel end pipes.

The fact the car is laden with add-on bulges and lairy two-tone paintwork is obvious from the images, but what you won't be able to glean is the multi-adjustable sport suspension, which lowers the car by up to 45mm.

Crammed into the wheelarches are LUMMA Racing rims (10x21-inch with 255/30-21 tyres at the front and 12x21-inch with 295/25-21 gumballs at the rear). The three-piece hoops feature an anodised centre section and a stainless steel outer rim.

Stopping power comes from massive brakes -- 405mm discs at the front and 380mm at the rear, with six and four pistons respectively.

The LUMMA Bodykit brings a bespoke bonnet, boot lid with integrated 'tearing edge', mirror caps, door handles, entrance strips and fenders -- all made of carbon.

You'll find more lashings of carbon in the cabin... that's if you can keep your eyes open when faced with the garish red-and-white seats and door trims! The interior tweaks also extend to suede car mats edged with leather and the mandatory aluminium pedals.

Form an orderly queue, gents...
