BMW M has released a new range of its M Performance Parts for its latest BMW X3 M and BMW X4 M SUVs.
The parts, claimed to give both the BMW X3 M and BMW X4 M some added visual punch, include an updated grille, new air intakes, revised door sill finishes and interior parts all made from carbon-fibre finished in high gloss.
Both the fast BMW X3 M and BMW X4 M are now offered with either a gloss black roof spoiler or fins in the case of the X4 M.
The additional parts also come with the option of plenty of 'M Performance' decals, while fans of the German car-maker's motorsport heritage will no doubt tick the option box the 'BMW M' logo puddle lamps.
Inside, raid the BMW M options list and you'll be able to order a cool carbon-fibre and Alcantara sports steering wheel that features a BMW M motorsport blue centre marking, for the full race car feel.
The sports same wheel also brings in revised shift paddles.
Matching the sportier steering wheel, BMW M is offering a gear shifter that is again fashioned from carbon-fibre.
BMW M says it will offer the BMW X3 M and BMW X4 M with an Alcantara and carbon-fibre key case that prevents you inadvertently damaging the key.
Bizarrely, the famous performance division says it is also offering the small SUV buyers the option of M Performance wheel bags which, it claims, is a practical solution for storing and transporting a set of ultra-lightweight alloy wheels for presumably track work or winter set of rims.
The number of X3 M and X4 M of Australian owners expected to take BMW M up on its M Performance-branded bags will be limited.
Pricing for the new M Performance Parts has yet to be announced, but the entry price for the BMW X3 M Competition wagon is $157,900 (plus on-road costs) while the BMW X4 M Competition fastback retails for $164,900 plus ORCs.
First revealed in February, BMW’s newest M models are powered by a new-generation 3.0-litre twin-turbo petrol six that delivers 375kW/600Nm in top-shelf Competition spec – the only version of the X3 M and X4 M so far confirmed for Australia.
Both Competition models are claimed to hit 100km/h in just 4.1 seconds. For the record, the standard X3 M and X4 M offer lower outputs of 353kW/600Nm and are 0.1sec slower to 100km/h (4.2sec).
Claimed to have been created to be the "M3 of SUVs", local deliveries of both the X3 M and X4 M are set to begin this August.
