M4 GT4 racer teased

BMW Motorsport has now confirmed the GT4, which had its racing debut via a development mule in January (2017) at the 24 Hours of Dubai, will go on sale “mid-2017”.
Built to contest the burgeoning GT4 category in GT racing series around the globe, the M4 GT4 is strictly a racing car only.
“After about 20,000 kilometres of testing, many hours in the wind tunnel, and a successful first race outing at the 24 Hours of Dubai, the official sales launch mid-2017 is the latest milestone,” BMW Motorsports latest ‘flyer’ reads.
“BMW Motorsport invested a lot of passion in the development of the all-new BMW M4 GT4. The focus of the experts from Munich was always on maximum mileage, cost efficiency, and customer friendliness. The result: a sophisticated and reliable GT4 race car that incorporates all of BMW Motorsport’s engineering expertise,” it concludes.
The GT4’s powerplant is based on the existing M4 streetcar’s twin-turbo petrol inline six and is rated at “over 431hp” – approximately 317kW. As yet there’s not a lot more to report re the car, save for the fact it features a braking system and “cockpit elements” from the BMW M6 GT3.
Definitely a case of watch this (grid) space…
