The cars from Mad Max: Fury Road up for auction in Australia

If you’re a Mad Max fan, you’ll definitely want to see this!

A rare opportunity to own your own piece of cinematic history is up for grabs as 13 of the cars used in George Miller’s Academy Award Winning Mad Max: Fury Road head to auction at the end of September.

Lloyds Classic Car Auctions Australia states that “Expressions of Madness are invited to tender for this collection of vehicles from the Wasteland” and are said to be the most iconic vehicle collection ever offered by the local auction house.

These aren't just some of the prop cars from the background of the film but are actually the ones driven by the heroes and villains of the post-apocalyptic world. Blown, super-turbo charged and armed to the teeth with weaponry and War Boys, the machines that outran the end of civilisation have been unearthed in the greatest barn-find ever recorded (who knew that barns still survived the apocalypse?).

There is a catch though, for anyone keen on the 1200hp ‘Gigahorse’, Immortan Joe’s ‘Doof Wagon’ or even the re-born Interceptor – you can’t have just one. That’s because Lloyds Auctions is selling the entire 13-vehicle fleet of Fury Road models as a package.

Of the Mad Max cars, you can get your hands on some pretty iconic rides including Razor Cola: 1973 XB Falcon Coupe (The Interceptor Reborn).

Also included in the 13 are the War Rig, Gigahorse, Doof Wagon, Nux Car, Elvis Convoy Car, Flamer Convoy Car, Razor Cola, Pole Car, Sabre Tooth, Fire Car, Caltrop El Dorado, Ratrod Chev Buggy and a Buick with heavy artillery and Hummer weapon mount.

It’s not every day that vehicles featured in a Hollywood blockbuster find their way Down Under for sale to the public so this is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to own an entire Museum of Modern Masterpieces if your budget will allow.

According to the promotional material, “Payment can be accepted in any currency, including cryptocurrencies as we outrun the end of civilisation. Nitrous, no-nonsense shipping can be arranged for anywhere in what’s left of the World.”

Offers close at 7pm on the 26th of September 2021 so if you’re wanting a new car (or 13) to prepare yourself for the next apocalypse or at the very least the next Comic-con Expo, get in quick!

Back in April, the long-awaited prequel to Fury Road called Furiosa was announced to be filming in NSW from June and is expected to become the biggest film ever made in Australia. Furiosa is set to star Chris Hemsworth, Anya Taylor-Joy and Yahya Abdul Mateen II.
