NEWSFLASH: The Holden Special Vehicles Maloo driven by Carsales Network's Joshua Dowling and HSV engineer, Gerry Bechet, has won the Eco Challenge division of the 2009 Global Green Challenge.
Dowling's Maloo ute achieved an impressive 48.76 per cent reduction in fuel consumption when compared to its ADR mandated fuel rating label figure. Over the 3000km-plus from Darwin to Adelaide, the 6.2 V8 two-door registered an average fuel consumption of 7.74L/100km. The nearest competitor finished with a 39.81 per cent improvement over its 'sticker' consumption, while the third-placed vehicle improved its consumption rating by 33.5 per cent.
