Manga MINIs in Melbourne
MINI tribute for Manga manFans of variations on the same theme will be pleased to know MINI has again hit panels with some paint for promotional purposes.
This time, two MINI cabrios and one hardtop have been painted in images inspired by Japanese animation genius Tezuka Osamu, of 'Astro Boy' and 'Kimba the White Lion' fame.
The MINIs have been painted with scenes from the cartoons to promote the National Gallery of Victoria's exhibition honouring the father of Manga.
'Tezuka: the Marvel of Manga' opens at NGV International on 3 November 2006 and features black-and-white ink drawings for Tezuka's manga, as well as colourful designs for covers and posters. Over 200 original works are presented, from the late 1940s to the late '80s.
