Bavarian tuning and redesigning house Mansory has worked it magic on the Lamborghini Urus to create one of the world’s quickest SUVs.
The Urus was never a pretty machine in the first place, but the 605kW Mansory Venatus emerges with its own body styling treatments added on for extra, umm, something.
More importantly, Mansory has eked 1000Nm of torque out of the Lambo SUV’s 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 and says the Venatus will hammer to 100km/h in just 3.3 seconds and a claimed top speed of 320km/h.
That’s astonishing, because the Venatus isn’t much (if any) lighter than the standard Urus, which despite weighing a couple of tonnes was already the world’s quickest production SUV, sharing its 3.6sec 0-100km/h claim with the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk.
Based on Mansory’s claimed figures, the Venatus is quicker and faster than any German production SUV (and the base Porsche 911), and just as quick but faster than the 310km/h Novitec-tuned Urus, which offers less power (575kW) but more torque (1032Nm).
But it’s the dunny-lolly-blue interior and the tack-on exterior parts that steal the show, at least visually.
Mansory designs and makes all of its own carbon-fibre pieces, so it’s no surprise to find out the stuff is absolutely everywhere on the Venatus, and they must be doing a roaring trade in as-new Lamborghini body panels.
There’s a new carbon-fibre bonnet, complete with hot-air extraction vents, and new carbon side skirts, too.
It gets even louder at the rear, where there is a new rear bumper, a “stylish” rear roof spoiler and an astonishingly loud rear diffuser.
