Mansory goes for gold with one-off Veyron

Blinged-up Bugatti is the ultimate in extravagance, if not subtlety...

Money is clearly no guarantee of taste, and here's proof, if any was needed. The garish creation you're looking at here is the Linea Vincero d'Oro, an ultra-blinged one-off Veyron conjured up by German tuner Mansory.

The Bavaria-based concern used last year's Geneva motor show to unleash the carbonfibre-intensive Linea Vincero, and the gold-laced newcomer is an extension of the same theme, which was conceived with cashed-up Middle East buyers in mind.

The standard Veyron's performance credentials are already mind-bending, so the mods carried out to the Linea Vincero d'Oro are primarily of the cosmetic variety.

Arguably the vehicle's most unique feature is the carbonfibre fabric with inbuilt copper thread that distinguishes the bodywork. Of course, this alone would be too subtle for the target market, so shiny gold is laced on the 'turbine' design alloy wheels, grille, door handles, rear-view mirror caps and fuel tank cap.

Just for good measure, the headlight washer nozzle covers, the borders around the daytime running LEDs and the decorative features on the roof all shimmer in precious gold too.

In addition, the 'artists' at Mansory have given the Veyron a facelift that brings modified fenders, a shortened bonnet and a reprofiled front apron.

Bugatti aficionados may have also noticed the bespoke side skirts, larger air intakes and new diffuser. Mansory claims these mods bring cooling and aerodynamic benefits.

Meanwhile, the LED daytime running lights and the stylised letter "V" (paying homage to the name Vincero) built into the car's front end further distinguish the one-off Veyron.

If anything, the interior is even more OTT, with lashings of gold on the seats, door trims, transmission tunnel and steering wheel rim. There's also an LED mood lighting system, naturally.

In the words of Mansory: "The entire passenger cabin shines in the golden glow of this feel-good lighting which masterfully draws attention to the high-quality carbon appliqués as well as to the specially embossed leather."

No word on what the Linea Vincero d'Oro costs, but given that the standard Veyron is already priced well in excess of $2m, we'd rather not know.
