Maroon 5 front man, Adam Levine is saying a Beautiful Goodbye to his stunning 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing. The iconic Mercedes-Benz which was a special-order example will be offered up at RM Sotheby’s auction house in Florida on March 30, 2019 with a price guide of US $1,000,000 - $1,400,000. It Makes Me Wonder why it is priced so low for such a rare and unique car.
According to its listing in the Gullwing Registry (yes it is a real thing) This Love was shipped to New York City on May 17th, 1955 but has lived much of its life in California. In the late '90s, the car was repainted silver and re-upholstered in black leather.
Through his years of ownership, Levine has had the interior restored back to its original blue leather colour as well maintaining the included accessories like the fitted luggage, a tool roll, jack and spare wheel. No need for a Payphone if you get a flat tyre.
Over the last five years the car has been in the hands of Adam Levine, who is a bit of a car collector himself. He’s also been seen rolling around town on a Sunday Morning in a Porsche 356, Mercedes S550 and a Ferrari 365 GTC. When you’re a Grammy Award-winning singer it’s an easy hobby to have.
Whoever the successful bidder of Levine’s Gullwing may be, we have a feeling that She Will Be Loved.
