Maserati goes streetwear with new Fragment capsule collection

Hiroshi Fujiwara and the Maserati design team together deconstructed the essence of Maserati and in the process reconstructed a new reality for their fashion capsule collection.

The partnership between Maserati and the pioneer of streetwear, Hiroshi Fujiwara kicked off last June with the global launch in Tokyo of the Maserati Ghibli Operanera and Ghibli Operabianca Fragment editions. Today, the two brands have unveiled the next part of their collaboration in the form of a new streetwear range.

The Fragment meets Maserati range is a limited-edition capsule collection of streetwear staples. As part of the range are two styles of hoodies, oversized t-shirts and a baseball cap emblazoned with the signifiers of the two brands including the trident emblem and the snout grille.

The capsule brings together Fujiwara’s rebellious style and the House of the Trident's audacious spirit as the Italian carmaker slowly reinvents itself for a new era. Fragment is a streetwear subculture project founded by Hiroshi Fujiwara. Since the early ’90s, Fujiwara has been sharing his designs with the world, collaborating with renowned global fashion houses.

Back in 2020, Maserati released their first collaboration with Fragment, based on the Maserati Ghibli sedan in GranLusso trim and offered in two exclusive looks; the Ghibli Operanera and Ghibli Operabianca. A total of 175 of these bitonal beauties, one in a glossy opaque black and the other in glossy white were created for global distribution.

The uniformity of colour on the exterior extends to the body-colour wheels and door handles. In the interior is premium leather and Alcantara, with contrasting silver inserts for the vertical stitching and the Trident on the headrests. The front grille is the iconic detail of this partnership: Fujiwara’s metropolitan style is reflected in a specific grille and in the logo, adapted uniquely for these special edition models. To complete the exteriors, Ghibli Operanera and Ghibli Operabianca are fitted with 20” Urano matte black wheels and a specific badge with the Fragment logo on the C pillar.

The Fragment meets Maserati capsule collection streetwear is available at Maserati Store and on Hypebeast’s hbx.com.
