Maserati Gransport Spyder open for business

Maserati used Frankfurt to launch the open-top version of its range topping GranSport Coupe.

Dubbed the GranSport Spyder, the open sportster is set to arrive in very limited numbers in Australia during the middle of 2006.

The Spyder shares the styling, engine and chassis modifications that set the GranSport apart from its (barely) more sedate stablemates. These include the Ferrari-fettled 4.2lt V8, 19-inch alloys, up-rated suspension and bodykit.

Also debuting at the Frankfurt Motor Show were two new versions of the Maserati Quattroporte -- the Executive GT and Sport GT. Like the Spyder, the new versions of the Quattroporte will also be heading Down Under in mid-2006.
