Mazda3 and CX-30 get more kit, higher prices

New CX-30 grades, standard wireless smartphone mirroring and smarter AEB headline Mazda’s small-car refresh, but you’ll pay a little more for the privilege

The News

Mazda has given its two most popular small cars a once-over for 2026, with the Mazda3 and CX-30 scoring a bigger screen, wireless phone mirroring and sharper safety smarts. Prices have gone up a few hundred bucks as a result.

The CX-30 also gains two new grades, the sporty G25 Evolve SP and plusher G25 GT. Both models are on sale now, with deliveries kicking off soon.

The Key Details

  • Mazda3 up $300 across the board, now from $31,910 plus ORCs
  • Carry-over CX-30 grades rise in price between $400 and $700
  • New CX-30 G25 Evolve SP ($42,360) and G25 GT ($45,360) grades
  • 10.25-inch screen plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto now standard
  • Smarter AEB now detects wider range of vehicles and scenarios

The Finer Details

Across both range, every Mazda3 and CX-30 now comes with a 10.25-inch Mazda Connect screen and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The AEB system is also smarter and now spots motorcycles, turning traffic and head-on threats, and there's new intersection collision avoidance assist and a fresh Aero Grey Metallic paint option.

Every new Mazda3 grade – hatch or sedan – is up exactly $300, so the entry-level G20 Pure is now $31,910, spanning all the way up to the flagship G25 Astina for $43,910.

See below for the full price list.

Vision Technology (360-degree camera, driver monitoring and more) remains standard from the G20 Touring up but adds $1900 to the entry-level Pure and Evolve grades.

The CX-30 s a touch more involved.

The Pure and Evolve rise $400, the G20 Touring $500 and the Astinas $700, with the all-wheel-drive G25 Astina topping out at $49,460.

The G25 GT SP jumps $2300 to $45,860, but now brings Vision Technology, white Maztex trim and ventilated front seats – a CX-30 first – as standard. The G25 Touring and AWD GT SP have quietly vanished.

The Evolve SP adds gloss-black 18-inch alloys, mirrors, roof rails and badges, plus black cloth with red stitching. The GT ups the ante with a glass sunroof, black leather, heated front seats and a 10-way power driver’s seat with memory. Both run the 139kW/252Nm 2.5-litre petrol four.

Aero Grey Metallic arrives for both models and the CX-30 gets Zinc Green Metallic, while Ceramic and Zircon Sand get the flick.

“The Mazda3 and CX-30 continue to be important models within our line-up, offering our customers a compelling combination of award-winning design and engaging driving dynamics – and with the latest updates, we’re adding even more value into the equation,” said Mazda Australia sales and marketing director Jarrod Gieschen.

The Road Ahead

It’s not clear when Mazda will deliver brand new versions of the Mazda3 and its SUV cousin the CX-30 but VFACTS national sales figures to the end of September 2026 show both models have slipped from where they were a year prior.

Mazda3 sales are down 29.4 per cent year-to-date to 5685 units but it still sits third in the sub-$45K small car class behind the Toyota Corolla (10,182) and Kia K4 (6160), while the Hyundai i30 (5180) is breathing down its neck.

The Mazda CX-30 is holding up better, down just 3.7% to 9020 sales, but that’s only good enough for seventh in a booming sub-$45K small SUV segment (up 10.5%).

The podium belongs to the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro (19,865), Hyundai Kona (18,533) and GWM Haval Jolion (17,051). Whether a bit more kit for a bit more coin lures buyers back is the question Mazda dealers will be fielding come Christmas.
