A McLaren 12C Spider, clad in a special police livery, has joined the ranks of the UK police and is putting speeders on notice.
Making its appearance at the Autosports Show in Birmingham on the weekend, the 12C is being used to help raise awareness on the dangers of speeding.
UK motorists who break the law would probably think twice about trying make a hasty getaway if they saw a car like this McLaren 12C Spider in their rear view mirror, as the twin-turbo V8 could catch most law-breakers in an instant.
A hugely capable super car, the McLaren 12C Spider is able to accelerate from a standstill to 100km/h in just 3.1 seconds and reach a top speed of up to 328km/h.
However, it should come as no surprise the UK police won’t actually be patrolling in the 12C, using it primarily for publicity purposes, to begin conversations with the police highway patrol and to draw attention to the fact that if you speed, you will be caught, regardless of what vehicle the police are piloting.
In Australia, the NSW police force has used a Porsche Panamera in a similar fashion to raise awareness, while in Dubai the local police department scored a Lamborghini Aventador.
Which police supercar cruiser would you want to see on the road? None at all, would be our guess...
